The Governing Council has approved, at the proposal of the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment, a grant of 80,600 euros for the Brotherhood of Labrador Paso Azul Lorca to finance operating costs of the Blue Museum of Holy Week in Lorca.
The Hermandad de Labradores Paso Azul has among its priority objectives the dissemination of its heritage in the Blue Museum of Holy Week of Lorca as a testimony of the historical and artistic legacy preserved in the Region and linked to one of the most rooted manifestations such as the Week Santa lorquina.
Its origin dates back to the sixteenth century and has a rich heritage including goldsmiths, metalworkers, carvings, equestrian art, leather goods, or its photographic archive among the collections gathered throughout its existence.
As a trunk element, it highlights the set of embroidered textiles, such as banners, robes, costumes, flags and complements of thrones, among others, which offer the public year after year a recreation of the Biblical and Redemption Processions on the occasion of the processions parades of Easter.
Among these elements stand out six pieces declared of Cultural Interest, which reflects the importance of this legacy.
