The Councilor for Development and Infrastructures of the City of Lorca, Ángel Meca, and the Director General for Territorial Planning, Architecture and Housing of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Laura Sandoval, visited this morning the works of Alameda de Cervantes, in which more than 3.2 million euros will be invested, progress according to the established schedule.

The performance in the Alameda de Cervantes comprises more than 18,000 square meters of pedestrian area and another 26,000 of road traffic, in which the construction of two roundabouts along the avenue that contribute to a greater flow of traffic in this downtown .
The works in this avenue, which links the city center with access to the Ronda Sur and the regional road RM-621 (Lorca-Purias), include improving accessibility throughout the field of action and construction of a bike lane thanks to the implementation of the measures of the Mobility Plan of Lorca.
The design of all the new actions are based on the criterion of energy efficiency and sustainability, and incorporate the lighting to the platform fireware, in coherence with the project of Lorca 'smart city'.
