One more year, the General Account of the City of Lorca shows that the PP has led to this City Council to a level of bank debt so extreme that neither the banks and PP councilors can approach to request a loan or more
The second deputy spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Isidro Abellán assures that his group "does not see positive" the management that the Popular Party has made the municipal budget of 2016, so it announces its vote against the General Account of that exercise.
The mayor says that this account reflects the mismanagement that the current PP government team is carrying out, and the bad economic situation in which the council is located.
Abellán says that the PP lies in its assessments of the municipal economic situation, as the councilman of finance "hides" that the Remnant Treasury "is still negative at 8.6 million euros."
The Socialist mayor recalls that when the PP came to govern in 2007, a "positive" Remanent of the Treasury was found and that even the popular took him to € 32 million in 2011 "for inflating the municipal budgets of those years ".
Isidro Abellán affirms that if the accounts were cleaned "they would allow to request loans, something that the City council of Lorca is prohibited, and above all, we would not be immersed in a Plan of Saneamiento".
In addition, the Socialist mayor warns that "as everyone knows, if there is positive savings or surplus in the budget is because this council is receiving a cascade million euros for the misfortune of the earthquakes of 2011."
Regarding bank borrowing, Abellán says that the current amount is still "well above the PP found when it came to the government."
He also states that although they have reduced bank debt, this is because they continue to repay their loans and because the banks no longer allow them to approach to request a loan or more "so even if they wanted to continue borrowing, the Ministry is prohibited" .
Another issue that reflects this General Account is the "lack of rigor" that has the PP when it comes to budgeting and even when it comes to raising.
An issue that is glimpsed in these accounts, according to Abellán, is that "it seems as if the PP wanted to use traffic sanctions as a source of revenue in full rule rather than as an act of deterrence to the citizen."
In 2016, 533,289.39 € was entered for this issue, almost 0.6% of the municipal budget, and 237% more than budgeted (225,000.- €).
Abellán says that this is only a sample of data that reflect the disastrous economic management of the PP in Lorca.
The mayor assures that a socialist government would have done a much better management of this budget and the previous ones of which the PP has done, reason why it regrets that the lorquinos have to bear the consequences of this ominous economic management by those eight votes that in the courts they gave the absolute majority to the Popular Party in 2015.
