This Saturday, Rugby returned to the agenda of the Lorca Olympics through an event as consolidated as the Sports Games Tournament of Guadalentín, a competition that takes its name from the great annual sporting event in our town and which has been held almost from the arrival of this sport to our city.
This event marks the starting point for the course in local rugby and practically at the regional level.
One more year the Tournament has been celebrated in both male and female, offering a full afternoon of rugby in the sports court of La Torrecilla and also, as we have been accustomed the Club Rugby Lorca, a few hours of coexistence in the sport .
The first to play were the boys with the match played after 16 hours and they faced Club Rugby Lorca against Totana.
The two teams of the Regional League Murciana had this first contact in the face of the season in which they will see each other again.
The match was settled with a wide victory for Lorca by 39 to 7 so the traditional lebrillo that in form of trofeo goes to stop the winner stayed at home.
The game allowed the new players of both teams to enjoy their first minutes and begin to pick up rhythm, while the veterans taught them the strategies to put into practice.
At 18 hours the women came.
On this occasion Lorca was measured with the XV Rugby, new equipment in the category coming from the city of Murcia.
The victory also fell in the Lorca side, thanks to the victory by 53 to 0, that despite the bulky allowed to add minutes in both teams and especially in the Murcia squad that comes with great enthusiasm to the regional league.
The female lebrillo remains at home during this year.
But rugby has the peculiarity that it does not end with the final whistle of the referee: there is always a third time with which to make pineapple and leave behind the possible discussions that have arisen in the field.
Thus, with this exercise of coexistence so exemplary ended a new edition of the Sports Games Tournament of Guadalentín that served the clubs Lorca to appear before their fans with victory.
