In ten months, the Regional Government of the Popular Party has only been able to return just 17,500 euros of the more than 677,000 euros which, more than six years after the fateful earthquakes, continue to owe the Solidarity Table in the form of repayable rent aids

The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Antonio Navarro has taken stock of the meeting of the Lorca Solidarity Bureau, in which he has demanded "more force" the Popular Party in order to demand from his party in Murcia the payment of the million dollar amount that, six years after the earthquakes of May 2011, continue to owe the victims of this catastrophe.

At present, the accounts of the Solidarity Board reflect an approximate balance of € 28,000, a figure which contrasts with the € 677,000 remaining to be received by CARM as reimbursable rentals.

To add insult to injury, Navarro says, Lorca Town Hall has had to re-enter another 50,000 euros, with more than 500,000 euros, the amount that has had to contribute Lorca consistory so that the Solidarity Table can continue giving service to those affected.

Everything, he says, to compensate for the debt that the Regional Government still has with those affected by the earthquakes.

And is that the Autonomous Community has only been able to contribute just 17,500 euros in the last 10 months.

The mayor says that "the data speak for themselves", for which he denounces that the Regional Government of the PP "is laughing at Lorca affected by the earthquakes that still need the aid" and also the Mayor and the other representatives municipalities.

The Socialist mayor demands that CARM be asked "more forcefully" to return the aid that "should not continue to be taken" to families who, more than six years later, still need such aid.

From the Socialist Group they have asked that in the next call to realize, justifiably, that they are making the necessary arrangements for the CARM to return the more than 677,000 euros that, today, they owe and whose debt is having which compensate the City of Lorca.

Otherwise, it says "the PP government team in Lorca, and the current Mayor, will remain an accomplice of the debt that CARM maintains with those affected by earthquakes."
