This is an intervention driven at the express request of the Mayor, Fulgencio Gil, whose works could begin this month, counting with a term of execution of 6 months.
The Councilor for Town Planning in the City of Lorca, Satur Martínez, has reported that the Municipal Council, through its Local Government Board, has approved a motion that will enable the final urban planning of a bag of land located in the area of the Camino Marín, which, among other improvements for all citizens, will allow the execution of the widening works and construction of pedestrian sidewalks in this enclave.
One of the most significant advances will be direct communication through the provision of a new section of road between Alameda de Cervantes (back of the Local Development Center) and the Marín road.
Satur Martínez explained that the Local Administration is imminently undertaking the improvement of this bag of this area of ​​the city, which covers a total area of ​​30,898 m², responding in a coordinated way to a proposal of the residents of the area .
The approval of this intervention from the urban plan makes possible the execution of part of the urbanization works.
In fact this municipal intervention has been driven in the last weeks by direct instructions of the Mayor, Fulgencio Gil, that have been translated in the joint action of the Councils of Works and Municipal Services and Urbanism, so that, next to the administrative procedure , there has also been progress in the bidding of works on the matter.
To date, this work has already completed its recruitment process to the point where its award is tentatively approved.
The goal now is to be able to start work within the current month to be completed in approximately 6 months.
The Councilor for Urban Planning has indicated that the details of the works included in the municipal intervention will be announced shortly by the head of Works, Ángel Meca, although we can anticipate that include the construction of sidewalks for pedestrians, enable a new section of road that connects Alameda de Cervantes with Marín road, the widening of said road and the burial of a battery of existing wiring connections in this area.
Thanks to this project the City Council urbanistically orders the area and gives greater security to pedestrian traffic and road traffic, as well as contribute to circulatory decongestion by opening the designated section that will run parallel to the railway layout.
Satur Martínez has stated that this perimeter of the city is denominated within the General Municipal Plan as Sector 9R of Sutullena.
It is important to remember that the reparcelling project that covers this sector was approved with finality by the plenary of the City Council in February 2009, whereas in 2013 a modification of the same was approved,
The Councilor for Urbanism has stressed that for the purpose of this project of reparcelling the City Council to own the plots of Green Zones, both general and local systems, the plots of equipment and roads.
We must take into account that the area of ​​the Sector is 30,898 m², of which 6,148 m² are reserved for green areas.
The management of the 9R sector also entails the acquisition of two plots for equipment with dimensions totaling 4,588 m² and the generation of 219 parking spaces on the surface, which urbanization will correspond to the landowners.
