Sánchez Jódar makes public the commitment that the PSOE has managed to start the current Mayor to strengthen the devices and means of security with which to improve the preventive and vigilance work to put an end to the lack of protection that keeps Lorca, especially those who live in districts.
PSOE Deputy Speaker, Marisol Sánchez Jódar has made public the commitment that the Socialists managed to start the current Mayor in the last plenary session, through a motion with which the PSOE claimed more technical and human resources for greater security in the municipality and to improve the working conditions of the Lorca Security Corps and Forces.
Thanks to the demand of the PSOE, in the next dates will meet the Local Security Board of the municipality, with the appearance in Lorca of the Government Delegate, to address "immediately and without further excuses" citizen insecurity "triggered" by the constant thefts in pedanias.
Sánchez Jódar has requested that, taking advantage of the meeting of this body, the current Mayor is able to demand "with sufficient force" the adhesion of the municipality of Lorca to the protocol VioGen, claimed by the Socialists, as a tool to reinforce the attention that the municipality offers the fight against gender violence.
The Socialists wrenched the commitment of the PP government team so that in the next budgets the economic item necessary for the increase of the Local Police staff is contemplated.
In this way, and thanks to the PSOE, will end 10 years in which the PP, far from fulfilling its electoral promise to increase the number of agents, has been dedicated to cut the staff of the Local Police, going from 153 agents in 2007 to 111 at present, since the PP "neither has covered one of the retirement retirements nor have called a new place since they govern in Lorca."
Sánchez Jódar is pleased that, thanks to his motion, he will also invest in improving the transmission equipment and the vehicle fleet of the Local Police.
The mayor denounces the waste of more than 100,000 euros "thrown away" that the PP did 8 years ago with the purchase of transmission equipment "that never came to work".
They also got the commitment to renovate the fleet of vehicles of the Local Police that the mayor says "is more than necessary" because "many of them are already 25 years old."
The PSOE also forwarded its request to request the Government Delegation to expand the staff of the National Police Corps and also that Lorca counts "as per population and geographic extension" with a "full" Civil Guard Main Post.
It is not, the mayor says, a "new barracks" but to endow the La Viña "with the number of troops that deserves a population like that of Lorca."
Sánchez Jódar says that the current "is insufficient" to cover 40% of the population that resides in the 39 districts and to cover the nearly 1,000 kilometers of rural roads in the municipality.
Another of the most important achievements that the PSOE achieved in the last plenary session was to start the commitment of the current Mayor to the neighbors of the path of Feli in Cazalla.
The Socialists pledged to the PP that, at one time, it undertakes the illumination of this way with the installation of luminarias to reduce the insecurity and the lack of protection that the neighbors of the zone feel.
Sánchez Jódar hopes that these commitments materialize for the benefit of citizen security and of course, also for the improvement of the working conditions of those who "daily play their lives to protect us".
He assures that providing the human and technical resources necessary for his work is also an excellent way of recognizing the work and effort of the Security Corps and Forces from the Administrations.
