The Poncemar Chair of Gerontology of the University of Murcia, within the training activities scheduled for this exercise in the social and health field of older people, organizes the "I Workshop on Improvement of Clinical Practice in Geriatrics."
These days, accredited as continuing education of the health professions of the Region of Murcia, are essentially oriented to doctors, nurses and pharmacists.
They are part of the commitment of this Chair with the city of Lorca in terms of chronicity and public health.
The seminars, which are free and require prior registration by health professionals, will be held in the auditorium of the Health Sciences Campus of Lorca on 4 and 5 October from 16 to 20 hours.
The inauguration will be on October 4 at 4:00 p.m.
The seminars include six papers on "Preventing Falls", "Early Diagnosis of Alzheimer's Disease", "Early Diagnosis of Cancer", "Management of the Agitated Patient", "Nutrition in the Major Diabetic" and "Early Detection of Institutional, Social or familiar "that will be taught by qualified professionals of the sanitary branch of the Region of Murcia that work in Lorca, Murcia and Cartagena.
Two neurologists, two family and community medicine doctors, an oncologist, and the nursing supervisor of the Day Hospital of the Rafael Méndez University Hospital,
They also intend to promote the participation of the attending professionals with two workshops on "Deprescription" and on "Communication skills with the patient and the resources of the community".
The latter was given by the doctor in public health, José Miguel Ruiz Maldonado, coordinator of the conference.
The conference closes with the conference of the Managing Director of the Murciano Health Service, Dr. Asensio López Santiago on "Time and the future".
