Councilman responsible for the municipal cleaning company, Limusa, Juan Francisco Martínez, has reported that the management of the vehicle yard of the Huerto de la Rueda, which also houses 190 parking spaces of a general nature, allows to generate a profit of 39,000 euros and to halve the losses generated by that of St. Vincent.
Given the interest aroused by the economic result of the public car parks managed by Limusa, it should be clarified that the accounts shown by the mayor Antonio Mecca differ from reality.
Where the mayor sees losses in the facilities of Huerto de la Rueda is that, as he acknowledges, they are benefits, since his 38,864.80 euros of billing imply an improvement in the income statement.
In fact, these facilities were born to house the municipal tank of vehicles, and used such infrastructure to provide the city, and specifically the environment of the fairground, 190 parking spaces monitored, with security camera system and with reservation to disabled users to facilitate parking and access to fairs and events.
Martínez Carrasco explained that the 72,771 euros per year that Mecca cites as an expense and cost of the company contracted for safety, refer to the deposit of vehicles that houses the seizures and vehicles removed by the municipal crane. As for the parking of San Vicente, its small dimensions - 87 squares - make it unviable for private initiative.
However, in addition to providing places for residents and visitors to the historic center, for tourism or shopping, and its usefulness to the city's mobile fleet, Limusa's management has managed to reduce the historical losses of this facility by half.
