PSOE Second Deputy Speaker Isidro Abellán has called on the current Mayor and his government team to study the "real possibility" of applying an effective rebate on the receipt of the contribution, which would mean "an important relief for the battered pocket of all Lorca, and especially for those 5,108 unemployed that today is in Lorca. "
Abellán recalls that as early as 2015, the Popular Party, using the absolute majority obtained in the courts, "passed the roller" to approve, alone, a "boost" of the receipt of the contribution by 10%, which qualifies "unfair for disproportionate," and even more so when a few months earlier "the PP promised in the election campaign that they would not raise taxes."
Although it is true that last year the PP wanted to correct that increase by applying a weighting factor, partly to counteract "its brutal rise of 2015", Abellán believes that "it is possible to continue progressing in discharging the very high tax burden they bear the Lorca ", so he proposes to study a reduction of the receipt of the contribution in Lorca.
Isidro Abellán considers it "regrettable" that the Popular Party in this City did not ask the General Directorate of Cadastre to apply for the next year 2018 in Lorca the coefficient correcting cadastral values.
"Whether it is because of the PP's inefficiency in managing municipal accounts or because they were involved in internal party issues with the succession of the previous mayor," he says, "it is regrettable that Lorca's are not able to benefit from a down in the IBI because of these issues. "
Abellán recalls that this mechanism is "of the few, if not the only," with which to get a lower IBI "without contradicting the Sanitation Plan in which this City Council is immersed and was approved in April this year ".
The socialist councilman states that after analyzing the General Account for 2016, which was approved with a Net Positive Savings of 5.12 million euros and a Surplus of 3.64 million euros along with millionaire profits in municipal enterprises (1,224. 599.69.- € in Limusa and 1.855.853.45.- € in Aguas de Lorca), "we believe that the government team has in its hand to study the possibility of carrying out a downgrade of the IBI in Lorca", which would mean that Lorca families would no longer have to pay thousands of euros as a contribution, increasing their disposable income and, assuming without doubt, a relief for the family economies of the municipality.
From the PSOE propose to analyze the economic impact that would have on income a decrease in the share of this tax to determine the scope of the review, and of course, analyze where it could compensate, via expenses, that income decrease , and all this without contravening the Sanitation Plan approved last April by this City.
