The Popular Party, with its current Mayor, voted against a motion of the PSOE with proposals "vital" to combat the drought in our land.
Before this new betrayal, the socialists ask the councilors of the Popular Party in Lorca to decide: either they are with their party or they are with the farmers lorquinos
The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Antonio Navarro has lamented the "new betrayal" of the Popular Party to irrigators and farmers, who returned to commit during the last plenary session by voting against a motion with which the Socialists sought the agreement of all the political parties to promote, from the consistory Lorca, the necessary steps in search of solutions against the drought in Lorca.
With their motion, the Socialists asked that the City of Lorca agreed to take the necessary steps before the competent administration to expedite the construction of "necessary rafts" to optimize the production of desalinated water, and to get enough pressure "so that 70% of the irrigated land can use it and stop seeing the pipe pass through their land without being able to irrigate. "
Likewise, they requested that the City of Lorca demanded before the Ministry of Agriculture the installation of photovoltaic plants with which to give energy to the desalination plant of Águilas, contributing to an energy saving of 40% and the lowering of the cost of water in the same percentage.
Another of the proposals of the PSOE in its motion, was that to demand that they stop putting obstacles to the sale of water between basins with surplus and basins, as it happens at present.
Navarro does not understand that the Popular Party refused to approve these "vital" petitions for the survival of the luerquina orchard.
The mayor says that the Popular Party had no reason to reject this motion "and did."
In addition, he insists that these agreements "do not involve any cost to the City of Lorca" because "only involves the will to want to work for the irrigators and farmers of this land."
Navarro says that for actions as "regrettable and unfortunate" as this, it is clear "from who is the PP."
Therefore, from the PSOE regret that the PP continues to act against the irrigators, opposing once again to the arrival of water to this land, as when they insisted on demonizing the "water fainting," and that in the end " has become the only water resource that irrigators have, thanks to socialist governments. "
The mayor asks the PP to reconsider their position, and asks the current Mayor and its councilors to decide: either they are with their party or are with Lorca irrigators.
In this sense, they warn the PP that they are still in time to join the demands of the PSOE and irrigators to work "together" to solve the water deficit in the municipality.
