A decade has completed the Day of Popular and Traditional Games.
And it has done so adding a new success to its journey through the agenda of the Lorca Olympics, since hundreds of people of all ages, but with particular prominence of the smallest, have joined the appointment proposed within the calendar of XXXIX Sports Games of the Guadalentín.
It should be remembered that the aim of this initiative is that for a few hours young Lorca turn their backs on technology devices, videogame consoles, tablets and computers and enjoy the games of a lifetime in the open air, also fostering coexistence with other young people and sharing the afternoon with the family.
This event last year added two innovations that were very well received by the participants: the location and addition of the construction of sand castles.
For this reason, both aspects have been repeated this year, which have not only been consolidated but also boosted activity.
Between 5:30 pm and 7:30 p.m., the Plaza de España became a giant playground for 20th and 21st century children to enjoy the rope, plates, marbles, line and spin, as well as the launching of olive bone
Meanwhile, the smaller ones, and some greater, conquered an authentic mountain of sand equipped with buckets, showers, shovels and rakes to build castles, but also other type of constructions.
It has been a great day of coexistence organized by the Department of Sports and the newspaper The Truth and has had the collaboration of Aytsa, Municipal Emergency Service, Civil Protection, Solplast and Limusa to consolidate an afternoon of playful and very healthy.
