Within an event that has more than 60 activities we find initiatives of all kinds: novel, popular, aimed at adults or young people, very specialized or aimed at those who start a sport.

And then there are others that give off a scent of admiration that comes from rooting, tradition, affection, and many other virtues.

This is the case with the Guadalentín Sports Games and the Mariano Graphic Athletics Grand Prix, a test that has accompanied the Lorca Olympiad almost since its creation.

Over the years it has been changing;

sometimes it has been competition for the best national or regional athletes;

others, evidence for the development of the basic categories;

has been competed by teams or in individual;

but has always been there, offering a full day of athletics and claiming the achievements of Lorca in this sport.

During the afternoon of Saturday the athletics track of the Torrecilla "Úrsula Ruiz", as it bears the name of the famous launcher of lorquina weight, welcomed the celebration of a new edition of the Gran Premio Gráficas Mariano de Atletismo, which counted on the participation of 40 local and regional athletes.

At 1630 hours began the competition that included all tests of speed, weight, length, background and launch.

In particular, more than 30 sports events were held in which men, women and young athletes participated, as well as all those fans who wanted to join, since the presence of the popular was allowed.

The youngest athletes, from cadets to promises, made combinations of speed, weight, length and depth that, when adding the points, determined which competitors were on the podium.

Meanwhile the youthful and absolute athletes competed in throw of javelin, disc and hammer, as well as in different background tests.

It was a complete afternoon of athletics that culminated in the awarding of medals to the winners of this event that will continue to be linked to the sport of Lorca while the Guadalentín Sports Games continue to exist.
