In 2016 the fencing came with force to the municipality.
The Fencing Club was created, the Municipal School was launched and the first tournament was held within the program of the Guadalentín Sports Games.
And even if it was a modest competition, the truth is that it was the foundation for the fencing to settle in our municipality.
A year later I wanted to check the progress of the sport and the work carried out by the club to consolidate this activity in Lorca, something quite achieved as it was possible to check on Saturday morning at the Felipe VI Sports Complex with the celebration of the II Tournament City of Lorca.
Up to 40 shooters from throughout the Region of Murcia, as well as Valencia or Albacete, came to take part in the test that required the marking of 13 tracks to accommodate the participation of all and endow the test with a complete dynamism.
Concretely it competed in Absolute Category.
M-12 and M-15 of foil and in Absoluta de Espada, participating from children of the club of young age to shooters with great experience.
Between the 9 and the 15 hours the competitions of foil were disputed.
The afternoon was reserved for the sword, which lasted until 8.30 pm, when the medal was awarded, which was the culmination of a second edition of this tournament, which showed that it has grown enormously in only 12 months and has arrived in Lorca for stay.
