The PSOE de Lorca regrets the death of Don Domingo Munuera Rico, and conveys his condolences to family and friends.
Munuera Rico was a Master of Special Education and of EGB, specifically Geography and History.
During his years as a teacher, he practiced at various centers such as CEIP Juan González, Pilar Soubrier and Sacred Heart of Jesus, until his retirement in 2000. For many students, he will be remembered as the best teacher they have had for their dedication, vocation and for their knowledge.
In addition, was Councilman under the acronyms of the Spanish Socialist Workers Party, being Mayor of Lorca D. José Antonio Gallego.
As mayor of the Lorca consistory, he was in charge of, among others, the area of ​​Tourism, at which time Lorca was sought as a cultural tourist destination.
He was one of the major promoters in the recovery of the Moors and Christians parties in the late 80's;
and above all, he will be remembered for being a great researcher on the Holy Week of Lorca, coming to publish guides for tourists or monographs on this issue as well as lecturer on the subject.
His publications include "Brotherhoods and brotherhoods passions of Lorca", several monographs on Holy Week, on Lorca's Good Friday and the Via Crucis of Monte Calvario and "Remembranzas lorquinas", on different historical events of Lorca.
