The Councilors of Emergencies and Health of the City of Lorca, Juan Miguel Bayonas and María del Carmen Ruiz, have informed that the Consistory Lorca, through these two management areas, will carry out a series of activities to raise awareness of the population of Lorca, especially for the young, of the importance of cardiopulmonary resuscitation on the occasion of the European Day for the Awareness of the Cardiac Paramo that is commemorated next October 16.
Juan Miguel Bayonas has indicated that "to start the activities to celebrate the European Day for the Awareness of the Cardiac Paro, will be held on October 14, in Plaza Calderon, a show to explain and teach everyone who wants what needs to be done in the event of a cardiorespiratory arrest.To that end, Civil Protection volunteers will be in that place from 11 am to 1.30 pm From this day on, preventive actions will continue in schools , institutes and institutions that request it. The Councilor for Emergencies, in this sense, stressed that "since the Emergency Department, which has been added this time Health, for several years has been betting on the awareness of this clinical situation trying to arrive with the campaign that here is presented to the largest number of inhabitants of our municipality so that connoisseurs of the maneuvers aimed at reversing the cardiorespiratory arrest may, involved in such a situation, respond to this situation of such unwanted outcome.
Bayonas added that "in this way, the campaign was born aimed at the children and youth population housed in schools of Lorca (colleges and institutes). In its last edition, assumed the importance that the population in general know these maneuvers of resuscitation, came to be directed, without losing the essence with which this project is born, to sports associations, teachers, merchants and officials of the City of Lorca, among many other groups undoubtedly this makes us stand firmly in the conviction that we are working in the right direction, prevention and awareness, together with knowledge and good work, make a society ready to respond to these situations.
María del Camen Ruiz, for her part, has stated that "the clinical situation is defined as a Cardiopulmonary Arrest (CRP) that occurs with abrupt, unexpected and potentially reversible interruption of spontaneous respiration and circulation. of oxygen to the periphery and vital organs, leading to tissue anoxia and irreversible biological death, if this situation does not reverse.It is noteworthy that Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) comprises all those maneuvers aimed at reversing the PCR situation, replacing first and attempting reinstate afterwards, spontaneous respiratory and cardiovascular function. Awareness Campaign on Cardiac Arrest in 2017
Juan Miguel Bayonas has reported that "after the year 2017 dedicated to the prevention of cardiac arrest by teaching the Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation maneuvers to the Lorca population, specific data have been obtained from each of the preventive actions that the Volunteer Group of Lorca has been carried out. In this way, a total of 1708 people have been trained in CPR in the year 2017, and a total of 29 talks have been carried out in the months of February and May.
The Emergency Councilor added that "due to this great demand, the volunteers responsible for transmitting this knowledge have been formed more specifically to be able to adequately transmit the maneuvers that make up a resuscitation." The requirement of those responsible for transmitting this knowledge is such that this year have been developed an informative videos where it is taught graphically the maneuvers of CPR, what to do in case of Obstruction of the Airway (OVACE) and how to put a person in Lateral Security Position (PLS) In order to draw up this project, it is worth mentioning the collaboration of the Scout Group of the city of Lorca, who put their grain of sand in the dissemination of resuscitation maneuvers.With this material, teaching is facilitated, as is learning on the part of the assistants, since it allows them to see how these techniques are realized that save lives ".
