A few days ago, the Brotherhood of Labradors, Paso Azul, received a very newsworthy news: the government of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia approved the granting of several financial aid to the brotherhood.
The investment, which will exceed 90,000 euros, is composed of two distinct parts.
On the one hand, 80,600 euros from the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Environment to finance the running costs of the Blue Museum of Holy Week.
A museum that, besides being the largest in the area, since its opening has become a cultural and social referent thanks to its continuous cultural and educational activities.
On the other, 12,489 euros framed in the Master Plan for the Recovery of the Cultural Heritage of Lorca that will stop to the restoration of the image of Stmo.
Christ of the Good Death, very deteriorated both by the passage of time and by the earthquakes of May 2011.
It should be noted that the image, one of the most beloved of Lorca, was carved in 1945 by the master sculptor José Planes, and was exhibited in 1951 at an exhibition of Sacred Art in Rome where, due to the perfection of it, it was awarded with a first prize.
