The Councilor for Citizen Security of the City of Lorca, Belén Pérez, presented this morning a project on road education conducted by the Local Police Administrative Security Unit, which consists of a Road Education Park located in the Integral Center of Emergencies and Security of Lorca.
Belén Pérez has reported that "this road education track aims to promote a responsible and attentive attitude towards the risks of traffic, a proposal that reflects on the measures that must be taken to prevent accidents, such as cross pedestrian crossings properly, drive the bicycle through authorized places and use the homologated safety helmet ".
The Councilor for Citizen Security explained that "this project is aimed at 1,200 students of the second year of primary education in Lorca schools.The activity, prepared to be carried out during a day, consists of a didactic unit, elaborated for the indicated educational level, dividing the contents into theoretical and practical sessions, adjusting to the situations that these students may encounter in their daily life with respect to road safety. In addition, from the Local Police we consider opportune the active participation of the teaching staff attending the activity, since it forms a fundamental part of this project, reinforcing throughout the course and the school stage all the behaviors, attitudes and principles imparted by the agents in this educational plan of road education.
Pérez has indicated that "from the Local Police it is intended that this project has a participatory, active and attractive character, introducing games such as" Speed ​​of Road Safety ", exercises, videos such as" The signals your friends "of the DGT, images, dances with different songs and a circuit of road education, that will have habitual traffic signals and that will easily recognize and assimilate the students after the phase of theory imparted, among many many more activities.
The Mayor of Public Safety recalled that "knowing this, the companies Centros Comerciales Carrefour SA and Ferconsa expressed their willingness to establish a framework of collaboration in matters of road safety and education, and in particular in the actions and activities that can be carried out in the CEIS Road Education Park.This agreement was signed last August and, in particular, the collaboration of both mercantiles has consisted in the donation of material related to both practical and theoretical classes of road education, as well as karts, signs of traffic, semaphores, petos and children's carnets of Local Police of Lorca ".
It should be remembered that the work of the Local Police in terms of road safety dates back almost at the beginning of its existence, being an indispensable and necessary tool to avoid future conduct in citizens that are not convenient to maintain social harmony, and on all, to safeguard the guarantees of the users of the public roads of our municipality.
