García Jiménez asks that Lorca embroidery workshops be entrusted with the execution of the various shields and symbols that decorate the institutional flags of the municipal offices of Lorca in gold and silks, as well as offering this "technical art" to the Regional Assembly , Autonomous Community and other localities as a formula to sell the quality of the product "exclusive patrimony of Lorca", and continue to strengthen the candidature as an Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO

The councilor of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, María Antonia García Jiménez will ask in the next municipal plenary that the consistory bet on the Lorca embroidery and Lorca workshops for the realization "in gold and silks" of the different shields and symbols that decorate the institutional flags within the municipal headquarters.

Within the framework of the process to ensure that the silk and gold embroidery technique so representative of the City of the Sun and of its Holy Week has the declaration of Intangible Heritage of Humanity by UNESCO, it is "common sense", ensures , that from the municipal institutions "continue to show and promote this signal of identity."

The first step, says the mayor, is that the City of Lorca commissioned the workshops of Lorca embroidery the realization in gold and silks of the various shields and symbols that decorate the institutional flags located inside the municipal headquarters of Lorca.

Everything, he assures, "with an equitable criterion as to its distribution so that all the workshops, the different cofradías and other private, can benefit from the realization of these charges."

The socialist mayor insists that it is "common sense" that municipal institutions promote our "exclusive" heritage, beginning with the substitution of flags with "ink-printed shields", by flags, banners, and embroidered insignia in the different lorquino workshops "in order to preach with the example that we are so proud of".

Similarly, socialists want the City of Lorca to offer to the Regional Assembly, Regional Government of Autonomous Community and rest of local consistories, that all flags and institutional shields, located in the halls and other departments are embroidered in Lorca, and that this "art-technique" of Lorca is also a "signal of regional identity" that we must take to gala.

To boost the commitment of the municipality for the promotion and knowledge of embroidery Lorca, from the PSOE also ask the City Council to agree with the Universities of Murcia, publish those doctoral theses that are made, especially in the faculties of Humanities, especially related to the art and technique of lorquino embroidery.
