The Ministry of Employment, Universities and Enterprise has completed the expansion of the office of the Regional Employment and Training Service (SEF) of Lorca, which involve the addition of 370 m2 attached to the existing 430 m2, and that have had a investment of 300,000 euros.
This space, which will be opened to users soon, includes a new classroom in which group actions of orientation of unemployed people and workshops on different resources for job search will be developed.
In addition, the aforementioned classroom will have 20 positions with computer access to facilitate the monitoring of online activities programmed by SEF technicians, such as access to job offers available through Eures.
The new enabled space will also allow Lorca companies to carry out selection processes with the support of the SEF staff.
Another of the improvements involves having more spacious stalls, especially needed to provide sufficient privacy to the unemployed belonging to groups such as women victims of gender violence or people at risk of exclusion, for confidential attention on the part of the professionals of the orientation and the labor intermediation.
The general director of the SEF, Alejandro Zamora, said that "the works will allow this office to make a leap in the provision of high quality services to the unemployed, we want these offices to be much more than facilities in which to carry out procedures, we look for that they are meeting points, with activities that invite to attend regularly ".
This employment office, located on Diego Pallarés Cachá Street in Ciudad del Sol, serves approximately 6,000 users, of whom the majority are job seekers (Lorca had 5,108 unemployed registered at the end of September).
