The Councilor for Equality of the City of Lorca, Juan Francisco Martínez, and the General Director of Women and Equality of Opportunities of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, Alicia Barquero, have inaugurated this morning in the Center of Local Development a "Seminar of impulse to socio-health coordination in gender violence "and whose theme has focused on gynecology.
The Ministry of Family and Equal Opportunities, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has launched a series of seminars throughout the Region with the aim of advancing the improvement of coordination on gender violence.
In order to cover a large number of professionals, as well as to achieve greater specialization, these seminars are organized in a localized manner and each of them focuses on a specific area of ​​health or social intervention.
Juan Francisco Martínez pointed out that "in Lorca, the seminar has focused on the area of ​​gynecology, and several papers have been framed, as well as a case study, with the participation of more than 50 health professionals, of services social and specialized resources in gender violence coming from different points of the region: Lorca, Puerto Lumbreras, Totana, Mazarrón, Aledo, Alhama de Murcia and Águilas ".
The Councilor for Equality has indicated that "the seminars are focused on professional practice, counting with personnel of direct attention to health, social services and gender violence." In addition, the materials and conclusions of the seminars will be reflected in a later publication so that they can be useful for other Administrations and people interested in this matter ".
Martinez stressed that "from the City of Lorca we firmly committed to the realization in our municipality of this type of conference to help professionals working in different local administrations and health centers to train and acquire some knowledge that can be put into practice for help people who need your support and attention. "
The Edil de Igualdad, finally, recalled that "to help victims who are suffering a situation of gender violence, the City of Lorca has the GAPS (Group of Psychological and Social Care), Child Care with a point of encounter and psychological attention, a "Shelter House" and a Local Coordination Table that is responsible, directly or indirectly, for the fight against gender violence in order to optimize all the actions required for this purpose. women who suffer this violence have 24-hour telephones available for emergencies 24 hours a day, and 016 for advice (this last number is not reflected in the telephone bill). "
