The Councilor for Public Safety in the City of Lorca, María Belén Pérez, has informed that on the occasion of the visit that a large number of Lorca make for the festival of All Saints both the Cemetery of San Clemente and the rest of the graveyards scattered by Our municipal area, the Local Police has established a special operation to monitor the correct access and ensure road safety.
It is a plan that seeks to streamline and facilitate both on-site parking and the fluidity of vehicle and pedestrian traffic,
Pérez Martínez explained that on the occasion of the Feast of All Saints, it is expected that thousands of citizens will visit the graveyards throughout the municipality of Lorca.
To attend this event, for and with preventive reasons and especially road safety in the corresponding areas, is why the Local Police has prepared a device for serving the general public, as well as organizing the movements of vehicles as of people by circulation these days.
In this sense, it has been agreed that the municipal agents will attend the vicinity of the entrances and exits of the exposed cemeteries, always with preventive character to avoid unwanted delays or retentions.
The Security Edil explained that, given this event, we must take into account that measures will be applied to the effect such as the prohibition to park vehicles at the access to San Clemente Cemetery by the Lorca-Granada Road, N-340ª .
It is recommended, in addition, the use of marked parking that exist in the sides of the Cemetery, trying not to interrupt or make difficult with our vehicles the access or mobility of other vehicles.
Citizens are required to heed the indications of the traffic agents that will be there, regulating traffic, to make more comfortable and smooth the visit to the aforementioned enclosure, knowing that there are laterals, pedestrian accesses next to the approximately 4.000 parking spaces signaled.
Pérez Martínez explained that the cemeteries of Almendricos, Morata and Ramonete have also been marked, monitoring the traffic in their accesses.
It should be anticipated that regular peddling of flowers is being monitored and controlled, as it is only authorized on November 1, 2017 in the vicinity (esplanade) of San Clemente Cemetery.
The area of ​​Development and Works of the City Council made a significant improvement intervention and access to the San Clemente cemetery, which included the resurfacing of the rise to the cemetery from the road to Granada to the parking lot, as well as the asphalting of the path that connects the cemetery with the ambulance ship of Lorca, whose firm ceased to be land.
This is an intervention that was part of an investment of 181,218.81 euros executed by the Ministry of Development of the CARM.
