Mateos does not doubt the good work of municipal workers of the City of Lorca, but a political direction, the Popular Party that "leaves much to be desired" according to the results reflected in this external study, in which Lorca gets the global score "lowest" of the four most populated municipalities of the Region of Murcia.
The spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Diego José Mateos has released the results of a study on the level of CSR of the municipalities of the Region of Murcia, prepared by the Chair of CSR at the University of Murcia, which leaves to Lorca "to the tail" in the indicators of local employment management and public procurement, behind Murcia, Cartagena and Molina de Segura.
In this phase of the study, they analyzed the four largest municipalities of the Region, evaluating more than 130 social, economic and environmental indicators from standardized sources, grouped into four blocks: 1.
Ethical and CSR approach, 2. Economic-financial information, 3. Social and contracting aspects and 4. Environment and sustainability.
Taking into account the global average of the study, the City of Murcia obtains a total score of 7;
Cartagena a 6.9;
and Molina de Segura, 7.3;
while Lorca appears the last of the four large cities evaluated, with a score of 6.5 out of 10.
Where the worst score obtained by the City of Lorca is in the section on Social Aspects and Contracting, since Molina de Segura gets a 7.5;
Cartagena 6.5;
Murcia gets a 5.9 and Lorca a 4.6. That is, according to this study Lorca "suspends" in the field of public procurement.
In the evaluation conducted on social aspects and public procurement, variables such as responsibility in municipal management have been taken into account;
the hiring and grants procedure;
relationships and operations with suppliers and contractors;
a fourth block on responsible promotion of local employment as well as on the educational promotion of Corporate Social Responsibility.
As a result of this study, which Mateos had the opportunity to send to the government team of the Popular Party during the celebration of the last ordinary plenary session, the socialist leader does not doubt the good work of the municipal workers of the contracting area of ​​the consistory, but of a political direction of the PP that "leaves much to be desired" according to the results of this evaluation.
Mateos asks Gil Jódar to heed this "external voice" that this study implies, carried out by professionals and oblivious to any political connotation;
that they apply the necessary changes to improve those aspects that, today, leave the City Council and its procedures for public procurement "in question", at least in the aspects analyzed in the report.
The recommendation made to the City Council of Lorca by the professionals of this study, prepared at the Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of Murcia, is to improve, specifically "the social and contracting aspects".
