Almost for a month, and to value the International Day against Gender Violence, workshops, training activities, contests, talks or theater will be held, as well as the institutional commemorative event of November 25 and the Local Coordination Table against the Gender Violence
The Councilor for Equality of the City of Lorca, Juan Francisco Martínez, and the president of the Federation of Women's Organizations of Lorca, Pilar Fernández, accompanied by representatives of different groups of the city have presented the broad program of more than 25 activities that the Municipal Consistory will perform to commemorate the 25N, International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women.
Juan Francisco Martinez explained that "although the fight against gender violence is a constant throughout the year for this City Council, we want to take advantage of the commemoration of November 25 to develop a program aimed at raising awareness, training and, above all, join efforts.
In this sense, in view of the commemoration of the International Day against Gender Violence, we are launching a program of almost one month full of initiatives of all kinds.
Workshops, commemorations, training activities, contests, talks or theater are part of this calendar that focuses especially on the institutional commemorative event on November 25.
In addition, within these acts, the Local Coordination Table against Gender Violence is also convened on November 30 ".
The Councilor for Equality has noted that "this year from the Department of Equality we have made a very participatory, and above all, collective since we have the collaboration of many associations of the municipality that have wanted to join and participate in the events that they will develop during this month, and that is that a drama of this size will only end if we fight it together and from all fronts.
Among all we have to make gender violence become an aberration of the past, something that no longer exists and that has no place in our world.
Let's keep fighting together because few goals can be worth more.
We will not be an advanced society until that great scourge that is sexist violence disappears forever. "
Martinez stressed that "from the City of Lorca we want to offer our thanks to all associations and groups that make such a comprehensive agenda possible, especially the Federation of Women's Organizations of Lorca, Youth Council, Red Cross, Cazalla Intercultural, Group Scout Ciudad del Sol, Cinema Club Paradiso, Lorca Feminist, National Police, Hostelor and El Molino.
But above all we appeal to Lorca and Lorca to accompany us, enjoy the agenda and make it a useful tool in the fight against gender violence.
