Since Villaescusa was evicted for the beginning of the works in May 2016, 19 months have passed, when the works were supposed to last six.
The City of Lorca has been paid 13 months more in rent, at a rate of 1,200 euros each month, to provide the service of statistics in a temporary private owned on Selgas street.
The second deputy spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Isidro Abellán has demanded Gil Jódar "immediate explanations" to clarify what is happening so that the Palace of Villaescusa, whose works had to be completed, as announced by the PP, for the second quarter of 2017, still not open to the public.
From the PSOE ask for the opening of Villaescusa Palace and the immediate return of the statistical service "to stop wasting public money on the rent of the temporary premises in Calle Selgas, and to recover the quality of service, which is currently being provided in some unfortunate conditions, both for users and for the municipal workers themselves ".
Abellán recalled that today a year and a half ago the Villaescusa Palace was evicted and prepared for the start of works that were going to last "no more than 6 months".
In fact, on November 15, 2016 the previous mayor announced that the works were executed at 60% and that they would end the second quarter of 2017. However, he denounces that despite these announcements "to this day the building is still closed and singing".
From the PSOE they assure that "the worse of everything, is not that the works are being delayed by diverse questions that we do not know";
"The worst thing of all assures - is that all these delays in the works of the Villaescusa Palace are costing us a lot of money in the pocket of all Lorca."
Abellán recalls that, since Villaescusa was evicted for the beginning of the works in May 2016, 19 months have passed, when the works were supposed to last 6, so this City Council has paid 13 months of rent that should not have paid, that is, over € 15,000 have been paid in excess of the pocket of all Lorca for the mismanagement of this government team of the Popular Party.
Money that, he assures, "by what it is seen, it does not hurt nor the least to this government team of the Popular Party".
From the PSOE ensure that this is one more example that shows how little public money hurts this government team when it does nothing to save on the payment of municipal rent, as it denounces that "they still have municipal premises closed to lime and singing, while thousands of euros are paid to lease private premises to house municipal services. "
Abellán affirms that it is one more sample of the way of governing of the Popular Party in Lorca, "torticera and harmful for the health of the municipal coffers".
He assures that the eight votes that in 2015 a court gave to the Popular Party and that allowed him to govern with absolute majority this council "they are costing the quarters to all the Lorca, for this inefficient and inefficient economic policy" of a project, the one of PP "completely exhausted".
