In relation to the restoration of the "Casa de los Arcas", the mayor of IU-V, Peñas Adoration, maintains that it is indecent to restore with public money -and without public and social compensation- a private property that has been abandoned for decades. breaking the Law of Historical Heritage
The Municipal Group of IU-Greens has once again criticized the excessive generosity with which the local, regional and state administrations are giving away money to a little more than a dozen wealthy families in Lorca to restore a few real estate properties with public money. palaces or historic mansions that, in general, have suffered considerable neglect by their owners for decades.
An abandonment that has done more damage in those buildings cataloged than the seismic movements of 2011.
This generosity of the governments of the PP with the richest families of Lorca, in the opinion of the mayor of IU-Greens, Peñas Adoration, contrasts with the rigidity and hard hand with which the PP is addressing the demand for return of aid for the restoration of much humbler homes to hundreds of Lorca who are harassing letters and notifications of return of their aid.
Thus, says the mayor of IU-V, the last investment of which we have learned these days is the one that affects what is known as "Casa de los Arcas", a property located on Pio XII street corner with Lope Gisbert street, that will benefit from a grant of no less than 450,000 euros, which will cover 66% of the cost of a restoration that would reach the amount of 683,000 euros.
We would have nothing to object to, points out Adoración Peñas, if the Master Plan for the Recovery of the Cultural Heritage of Lorca in which such generous aid is framed would have contemplated measures of "public return" that are common in public development policies, such how to compute the whole of public investment to make public a part of those properties.
On the contrary, argues the councilor of IU-V, there are buildings that are abandoned to their fate for many decades, as is the case of the Casa de los Arcas, on which has never been issued any administrative resolution to force their owners to comply with the duties that are required to the property in the laws of Spanish historical heritage and the cultural heritage of the Region of Murcia, and now, suddenly, taking advantage of one of the greatest misfortunes that have suffered in the history of Lorca, are restored with everyone's money for exclusive use and unjust enrichment of their private owners.
Adoración Peñas points out that the forecast of private participation in financing the works of the Master Plan amounts to a ridiculous 2.73% of the global.
Finally, it affirms that the local government has not yet answered the allegations made by IU-V to PEPRICH, among which was precisely the consideration that the Protection Plan did not contemplate any measure that would guarantee any kind of public return of the aids destined for to rehabilitation, especially when they are large and cover a significant percentage of the rehabilitations of listed private properties.
