The Minister of Finance and Public Administration, Andrés Carrillo, said today that "the regional government continues its commitment to the total reconstruction of Lorca, and have already started 90 percent of the works of the investments planned in the municipality to alleviate the effects of earthquakes, financed with the loan of 185 million euros signed in 2012 with the European Investment Bank (EIB) ".
These works have consisted of the reconstruction and rehabilitation of buildings, reconstruction of neighborhoods, educational buildings, cultural heritage, sports facilities and roads, and have benefited practically the entire population of Lorca.
The counselor attended the signing of an agreement between the Secretary of State for Finance, José Enrique Fernández de Moya, and the mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, which provides that the City will receive 3 million euros to finance repair works or restitution of infrastructures, equipment and facilities and services of local ownership, especially in districts.
Among the main projects that will be executed under the agreement is the remodeling of the Piña road (Cazalla), with a planned investment of 60,000 euros;
the improvement of Mira road (Marchena), which will mean 25,000 euros;
the renovation of the road of the Mill of the Sierra (Tercia) with a budget of 240,000 euros;
the improvement of pedestrian itinerary to the school of La Hoya, with 25,000 euros;
the remodeling of the road to Puente del Rasmao (Campillo), with 10,000 euros and the paving of access to the town center of the deputation of Torrealvilla, with an investment of 140,000 euros.
In addition, Carrillo recalled that the regional government will finance with 7 million euros the works of the second phase of the fairgrounds and Congresses of Lorca, located in Santa Quiteria, and the culmination of urban renewal of the neighborhood, after receiving authorization from the EIB financing last September.
