President López Miras promised in September to provide the necessary money for the second phase of the works and two months later we still do not have news.

Antonio Meca requires the Regional Government to comply with the word given by its president Fernando López Miras last September and sign the agreement with the City of Lorca of the 7 million euros remaining for the total completion of the works of Santa Quiteria.

Meca warns the Government Team of the "high risk that exists that the March 31, 2019 is not finished the second phase of the auditorium, because not meet this deadline would result in the work was halfway and we had to return the 5.6 million euros from the ERDF funds destined to the construction of the first phase, which together with the 1.4 million from the lottery of the 2011 earthquakes, amount to 7 million of what has been done so far. "

It is urgent to sign the agreement of the second phase to start up the bidding and adjudication processes of the works that could take about six months.

This would mean that the summer of 2018 would be reached without starting the works and there would be barely nine months to complete the works.

"The delay in signing the agreement, the tendering and awarding of the works and therefore the conclusion of the project, can cause a financial loss to the City if we had to return the 5.6 million euros of FEDER funds"

Currently, work is being done on the completion of the exhibition area and the urbanization of the surroundings.

And in this regard "we have requested to be able to visit the works of the auditorium together with the corresponding technicians" indicates the Councilman.

From the Parliamentary Group of the Regional Assembly will ask the Regional Government about this commitment.
