Adoración Peñas, councilor of IU-Verdes de Lorca has proposed the installation of a device to promote tourism for people with deafness problems.
According to the mayor, it is about installing a QR code in all the monuments and places of tourist and cultural interest in the city of Lorca through which, through a mobile application you can access the explanation of the history of these monuments and / or places by an interpreter in sign language.
Peñas affirms that this is a proposal that, apart from being simple, is part of the group of people with hearing deficiencies, for which it has all its support.
It states that it would be an impulse for the promotion of tourism for deaf people from other places who come to visit the city, as well as a social and cultural service for the Lorca own who have this specific disability, favoring their social integration.
From IU-Green ensure that it is a measure that involves a very low cost to the municipal coffers, since it only requires the hiring of an interpreter to record (only once) in sign language the explanation of each and every one of the monuments and places of interest of the municipality and the application of the QR code in the legends of said spaces, as well as the mobile application.
In this sense, Peñas appeals to the political will of the councilor for tourism, who has long been aware of this request, since it is the only thing that is needed to implement something as simple as favorable for this group.
