The councilor of IU-Greens, Gloria Martin, has reported that the Platform of victims, already composed of 150 families, has requested the Government Delegation to hold a rally on November 23, at 7 pm, in the Plaza de Calderón, in order to deliver a letter to the regional president, Fernando López Miras
The councilor of IU-Greens, Gloria Martin, has informed that the Platform of Affected by the Return of Aid of the Earthquakes has asked the Government Delegation to hold a rally on November 23, at 7:00 p.m. Plaza de Calderón.
The objective is to take advantage of the visit to Lorca by the President of the Regional Government, Fernando López Miras, who is expected to attend the concession of the titles and distinctions of the city that are granted each year coinciding with the patron saint festivities of San Clemente, to make delivery of a letter in which those affected will expose their problems and demand solutions.
The members of the Platform, which already brings together 150 families, have already tried, in vain, to meet with the mayor of the city, Fulgencio Gil, who requested an appointment on September 18, without having received any response.
"Given that politicians do not open their offices to listen to neighbors, they are forced to go out to meet them on the street," Martín explained.
Citizens' Committee on Petitions and Defense
Martín informed that they have already received a response from the lawyer of the Citizens' Petitions and Defense Committee, who has informed that, in the near future, the request made by 80 affected to have their case addressed in the Regional Assembly, will be examined by the Board of the House.
If it is admitted for processing, it will be sent "as soon as possible" to said Commission.
The councilor of IU-Greens celebrated that some political parties have expressed their interest in raising initiatives regarding the problem of the return of aid for the earthquakes of 2011, which affects more than 800 families.
However, he asked them "courage" to defend a "political solution" that goes beyond extending the deadlines legally provided for those affected can justify the subsidies, because "that is not enough," he said.
Therefore, Gloria Martin encouraged them to join, "in Murcia and Madrid," the request made by Izquierda Unida - unanimously approved at the September Municipal Plenary - for inspections of housing, and the corresponding report technically serve as a method to justify the aid.
"The IU councilor recalled that Decree 68/2011, of May 16, is very clear in this regard, and that there are two methods of justification: invoices or technical reports."
Martín said that officials of the Autonomous Community are "waiting" for a "political criterion" to apply this second way of justifying the aid.
In IU also ask other political forces to openly demand the autonomous government of the PP "to leave without effect those requirements that affect beneficiaries of aid whose refund procedure has prescribed" and Martin estimated at 90%.
In this regard, he denounced that the computer system used by the Inspections and Sanctions Service of the General Directorate of Territory, Architecture and Housing of the Region of Murcia to perform the calculation of the prescriptions is using erroneous parameters, to the detriment of the victims.
"The prescriptions are not being well calculated and they are demanding the return of the money to neighbors who no longer have the legal obligation to do so because the Administration did not claim it in a timely manner," Martín said.
