The San Clemente Federation distinguishes with the Regni Clavis 2017 the Secretary of State for Social Services and Equality of the Government of Spain, Mario Garcés Sanagustín, and the parish priest of San Cristóbal, Régulo Cayuela.
The Medieval Parade will take place this year between La Alberca and Lope Gisbert and will feature more than 950 extras, a geese, 2 dromedaries, 10 horses, 3 floats and a car.
The Councilor for Culture in the City of Lorca, Agustín Llamas, and the President of the San Clemente Federation, Luís Antonio Torres del Alcázar, have presented the remarkable battery of 34 events that will be held on the occasion of the festivities of San Clemente , covering from last November 3 until December 16.
El Edil de Cultura explained that it is a very ambitious program, designed with rigor and behind which there is an enormous amount of effort, dedication and work by the San Clemente Federation, whose contribution to our traditions constitutes a legacy from which all Lorca can be proud.
Now is the time to enjoy this great work by all citizens, celebrating parties that have multiplied their popularity and popularity in a special way in recent years.
Agustín Llamas has indicated that among the multiple acts it is worth mentioning the celebration of the traditional parade, which this year will have a very special setting, covering a large part of our historic center.
In fact, the stop, which will take place next Saturday, November 18 at 6:30 p.m., will depart from La Alberca, crossing the streets of Lope Gisbert and Príncipe Alfonso, until Plaza del Negrito.
In it will take part 950 extras, 3 floats, 1 car, 2 camels, 10 horses and geese, will have a show of armed fighting on horseback, and will be headed by a firebreak that will combine music and pyrotechnic spectacle.
These people will parade representing the Christian, Moro and Jewish sides, remembering the cultures that coexisted in our city between the years 713-1488.
The Culture Minister stressed that the reading of the proclamation, which this year is the responsibility of the Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, will be held this Friday 17th at 9:00 p.m., and during the ceremony will be awarded the Regni Clavis to Mario Garcés Sanagustín, Secretary of State for Social Services and Equality of the Government of Spain, as well as to the parish priest of the church of San Cristóbal, Régulo Cayuela.
