Antonio Meca is going to present a motion on the creation of the Regulations of the Investigation Commissions in the plenary session this November because he believes that "creating a Commission of Inquiry on a specific matter allows to clarify the events that occurred, providing light and clarity and determining corresponding political responsibilities, if they existed ".?
At a time when corruption is in second place among the causes that most concern the Spanish according to the CIS, all parties must bet on transparency and the fight against corruption.
In the Spanish legal system, there is no constitutional or regulatory impediment preventing municipal and judicial investigations from being carried out on the same object simultaneously, as long as there is a public interest motive that drives them, they usually yield irreplaceable results.
"It is not even essential that the political groups agree on the conclusions, it is enough that they agree on a work program and this is carried out" adds the City Councilor.
City councils such as Madrid, Toledo, Seville, La Coruña, Burgos, Cartagena or the Assembly of Murcia already have this regulation for their research committees.
Meca proposes this tool since "the refusal to investigate in municipal headquarters degrades the City Council that does it, because it would not take advantage of the possibility of putting into operation a position of political responsibility and democratic strengthening".
