Gloria Martín has assured that she does not feel intimidated and that her political formation will continue to denounce, without fear, any aggression against human rights and the environment, because "IU does not work to protect the economic and business interests of any lobby, but to defend the general interest and a regulation of the use of just and rational land where the economic development is not incompatible with the health and the quality of life of the neighbors "
The councilor of Izquierda Unida-Verdes in Lorca, Gloria Martín, has received a letter signed by José Luis Muñoz Ruiz, Ramón Quiñonero Alcázar and Antonio Ramos Terrones, lawyers of the Association of Livestock Employers of the Region of Murcia, in which they require that "within a non-extendable period of 48 hours" "publicly" proceed to the withdrawal of the accusations allegedly made against the companies that are part of it.
Otherwise, they threaten to take legal "criminal" actions against the mayor.
For his part, Martin has responded to the letter "for mere courtesy" and has sent them "each and every one of the press releases" in which his statements are collected, made in his capacity as councilor of the City of Lorca, to the problem of the conciliation of residential and livestock land uses in Lorca, as well as about the irregularities detected by neighbors and their political formation in some macro-farms implanted in this municipality.
"I hope they are useful for the criminal complaint they say they want to put me" said Martin, who has also sent them a photographic report on illegal discharges of slurry in the Ciudad del Sol, which served as the basis for filing the corresponding complaints with the Service of Protection of Nature (SEPRONA) of the Civil Guard, some of which have already been settled with sanctions for offenders.
The councilor of United Left-Greens has assured that it is not the first time that the legal cabinet of this association threatens to take legal action against the councilors of their political formation and has recalled that "the last time, they did not even appear at the act of conciliation".
In this regard, Martin has assured that he does not feel "intimidated" and that the municipal group of which he is a part will continue to defend "without fear" the rights of the neighbors affected by the proximity of macrobrushes next to their homes, and who will denounce, "how many times are necessary ", crimes against the environment.
Martin said that his training does not work "to ensure the economic and business interests of any lobby" but to defend the general interest and a rule of land use "fair and rational" where economic development is not incompatible with health and quality of life of the neighbors.
In that sense, he has claimed, for the umpteenth time, that the City Council promotes a meeting between the actors involved in this problem through the call of the Bureau for the conciliation of the garden, "dead since last January," and that proceeds to the "update" of the General Plan of Municipal Planning so that in Lorca there are no citizens forced to live among excrement and bad odors.
