Almost 40 students who can not use school transport in Campillo are forced to walk, every day, this road that does not meet the minimum safety conditions for pedestrian crossing.
The Socialists ask that a second bus be made available while this road is not being prepared to guarantee the safe passage of schoolchildren and their companions
The PSOE takes Pleno the problem of the almost 40 students of Campillo and their families, affected by not being able to use school transport to the school of the district.
This has been announced by the Socialist councilor María Ángeles Mazuecos, through a motion with which the PSOE demands the settlement of the D-10, or road to the Almenara, and that a second bus be enabled to guarantee the "safe trip" of schoolchildren while this route is not fixed "that does not meet the minimum security conditions" for which these school children and their families travel.
Mazuecos assures that the situation that these neighbors are going through "is exceptional and dangerous", so it requires an "exceptional and rapid response".
Currently, there are almost 40 students who, due to the distance from their homes to the school, can not use school transport, and have to travel on a highway, specifically the D-10 or Almenara road. , which "almost completely" lacks the minimum security measures for pedestrian traffic.
The PSOE claims to rehabilitate the road known as Almenara (D-10) to adapt it to pedestrian traffic, also taking into account the existing deficiencies for pedestrian use in the area of intersection with the RM-11 highway, fast track Lorca -Eagles.
The socialists insist that the section of the D-10 road and especially the stretch from the hermitage to the roundabout that regulates the passage to the shopping center "is not also prepared for people with reduced mobility."
Mazuecos has shown that by walking along the narrow shoulder of the road "where it exists, since there are stretches where there is not even" or by private vehicles at the entrance of the school, "makes them occur daily risk situations that endanger the physical integrity of children and their companions. "
Therefore, and while proceeding to the adaptation of the D-10, the PSOE insists that it is "essential" to retake the school transport of students who had been using this line, on a provisional basis, until the completion of road works "For this, ask the PP to be sensitive to this problem that" worries in a way "to the residents of the district, and enable a second bus, as long as this road is not repaired, to solve this neighborhood malaise .
