The Government Team rejected in the plenary session of yesterday the proposal of taking out to public contracting the rent of electric generators, commissioned until now to the family business of Mrs. Eulalia Ibarra.
The Government Team has hired by hand for years the rent of the generators that are used in parties in Lorca and districts.
Only in the years 2015, 2016 and 2017 the City has paid more than 90,000 euros for this service, according to the budgets requested by this Municipal Group, 85% above its market value.
Antonio Meca does not know that "in the contract files have never asked budgets to other companies as advised by the code of good governance."
Only with the 33,121.28 euros that were paid in 2015 could have bought three generator sets owned and not have the need to rent them every year.
These proposals to correct these bad political practices were voted against by the Popular Party Government Team "demonstrating once again that they defend the particular interests of their people over the general interest" adds the Councilman.
Antonio Meca reminded the Mayor that he did not fulfill his commitment in the inauguration when he promised to listen to the opposition's proposals and take them into account.
In that act, the spokesman for Citizens expressed his doubts about the courage that the Mayor should have to eliminate these harmful actions for the local economy, confirmed now with the inexplicable decision not to accept such a sensible and necessary proposal.
