The councilor of Izquierda Unida-Verdes, Gloria Martín, has denounced that the City Council of Lorca granted building permits for the construction of a macro-sink of 2,000 heads in a flood zone, without requesting the pertinent reports from the Segura Hydrographic Confederation (CHS).
This is clear from a communication from the Water Commissioner who points out that, although the facilities are outside the area of ​​police channels, when placed in a flood zone, "the City of Lorca had the obligation to request the report of the CHS , according to what is established in section 5 of article 14 bis of the Regulation of the Public Hydraulic Domain ", something that has not been done and that this body claims, even though the exploitation is already built.
The concern of the affected neighbors, residents of La Piscina, in the deputation of La Escucha, was denounced by Izquierda Unida-Verdes in March of this year.

In this regard, he referred to recent statements by the president of the Irrigation Community of Lorca, Juan Marín, in which he announced that they will not authorize irrigation of new plantations in the municipality due to the lack of water resources.
Martín described the events of "environmental terrorism" because "they flagrantly violate the Water Law and the Regulation of the Public Hydraulic Domain, play with the safety of the people, and drain the water resources of the municipality to favor certain entrepreneurs over the general interest. of Lorca and the well-being of future generations ".
"Who do they protect? Who do they serve? Because their neighbors, their own voters, not," said the councilor of IU-Greens.
For all these reasons, Gloria Martín has requested that the license to build this feedlot be revoked immediately, because it is a "manifestly illegal" administrative act.
It has also demanded "political responsibilities" for "the lies, irregularities, and the absolute lack of control over this issue," which can lead the City Council to assume patrimonial responsibilities for its actions.
Martín said that now it is explained that the owners of several feedlots have filed contentious-administrative appeals so that the neighbors can not access the files.
