The XXII meeting of the joint commission to monitor the Master Plan for the Recovery of Cultural Heritage of Lorca, formed by the Autonomous Community, the State and the City Council, agreed today to provide 1.5 million euros for the recovery of the Literary Casino Artistic.

Also, in the meeting, in addition to reviewing the execution and the actions taken, it was established that the old church of Santa María is the seat of the exhibition on the reconstruction of Lorca's heritage.

"The goal is that this church is recovered before the summer and is the first stop of the exhibition, which will be itinerant at first and then be exposed permanently in the city of Lorca," said the director general of Cultural Heritage, Juan Antonio Lorca .

Another point that was addressed was the investment, by the Community, of 171,729 euros in the Sanctuary of the Virgen de las Huertas and the conclusion of the work in the Old Archive endowed with 255,000 euros.

Finally, it was also agreed to provide sufficient funds for the recovery of the Sutullena Bullring, a space that will be used for multiple shows.

All properties declared BIC (Assets of Cultural Interest) initially included in the Master Plan have been restored, as well as more than 80 percent of the listed buildings, now focusing on the actions in the Grade 1 and Grade 2 buildings. they have added new actions that are already being processed or are being carried out.
