The councilor of IU-Greens, Gloria Martin, has asked that the Municipal Office of Consumer Information (OMIC), dependent of the City Council, promote a collective claim against the Vodafone-ONO company, after hundreds of customers of this company in Lorca were left without cable service, ADSL and mobile telephony from 5 pm on Saturday until Sunday morning.
Martín said that the clients of the multinational that were cut off by this massive incident, "do not have to pay for a service considered a basic benefit to the citizenship that was not lent for hours," and recalled that, "there are allowances contemplated by Contract consisting of automatic returns on the next user bill ".
Specifically, the operator should multiply by five the fixed monthly fee that the customer pays for the data and call services, and then apportion it for the duration of the interruption, an amount that must be returned to its customers.
In addition to the previous compensation, the company has the obligation to establish its own quality parameter with which to establish other compensations if it leaves its users without service for more than 8 hours in the same month.
All this under General Law 9/2014 and the Bill of Rights of telecommunications users, which regulate the right of consumers to receive good service.
Therefore, Martin has asked the Councilor for Consumer Affairs, Mari Carmen Ruiz, to give instructions to the OMIC to issue a public statement so that those affected by this massive break in communications know where to go to defend their rights as consumers.
He also requested that Vodafone-Ono be required to provide a comprehensive explanation of what happened.
