The deputy spokesman of the PSOE in the City of Lorca, Marisol Sánchez Jódar has requested the extension of the public parking area of ​​the Rafael Méndez General Hospital, to improve the accessibility of users to the site.

To do this, it has proposed the use of a plot annexed to the current parking area that is owned by the municipality.

With this proposal from the PSOE, users of the Rafael Méndez Hospital would benefit from approximately 2oo new parking spaces, thanks to the use of this 2,000 m2 plot.

A plot that, points out, is owned by the City of Lorca and that, at present, only serves to store lampposts, benches and other appliances and remains of urban furniture in disuse.

Sánchez Jódar says that this street furniture can be stored "perfectly" anywhere else, but the users of Rafael Méndez "have no other place to park."

Therefore, ask the City of Lorca to enable this plot and can be used, instead of to store lamps and banks, for use as a new parking space available to hospital users.

Marisol Sánchez has expressed concern about the difficulties that users of Rafael Méndez, especially the elderly and people with reduced mobility, present to access the hospital premises.

Ensures that it is time to improve the accessibility conditions of this hospital that has "shortcomings" because they were not contemplated at the time to be a work of "almost 30 years ago."

The socialist mayor ensures the only stop with which Rafael Méndez has "can not be in worse place."

He adds that, having the entrance hall to the Hospital, as well as the entrance to the specialty consultations at the top, it does not make sense that the only bus stop is at the bottom, forcing users to upload a "long and accentuated" costs until you reach the hospital.

For this, Sánchez Jódar has asked the Department of Transportation to move the current bus stop and locate it at the top of the site, to facilitate access to the main entrance of the hospital, as well as to specialty consultations.
