It is a project that is executed at 90% thanks to the financing of the Ministry of Development, and that adds to the most ambitious investments in history in this area as the Urban Initiative (9.4 million), stabilization of the rocky massif (3 million) and access improvements (1,3), among others.
The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, together with the General Director of Territorial Planning, Architecture and Housing of the CARM, Laura Sandoval, and the Councilor for Works, Ángel Meca, supervised this morning the progress of the works that are being carried out out to equip the upper neighborhoods with a new park that will be located between Calle Albaricos and the San José de Calasanz area, under the name of "Parque de la Mujer".
The First Edil has emphasized that one of the priority objectives of the action that this Municipal Executive established years ago was the promotion of our high-rise neighborhoods, an area that enjoys a privileged location and whose communication, security, urban improvement and heritage recovery are being strengthened with the most ambitious investments in the history of the municipality.
I would like to remind, for example, that we have invested 9.4 million euros thanks to the achievement of the Urban Initiative, as well as 3 million euros for the stabilization of the rock massif of the castle, projects to which the improvement of accesses by accession is added soon. , 3, among other issues.
Fulgencio Gil has affirmed that the commitment with these neighborhoods is being fulfilled with facts, and its validity remains firm, reason why we will continue carrying out works of intervention, recovery and improvement in its streets, squares and monuments.
Precisely throughout the last months we are allocating 737,930.18 euros in the works of a new park, whose construction allows us to offer the neighbors a radical change of the degraded urban situation that previously presented the enclave of reference.
The First Edil explained that this new park, true green lung and recreation area of ​​the upper neighborhoods, will have an area of ​​5,590 m2 distributed on several platforms that allow to save the different natural levels of the land.
Each of these levels will have different uses for the enjoyment of neighbors and citizens.
In this way the area will be better communicated with the city and will be a new space to enjoy the views of our Castle.
Access to the park from Calle Albaricos will be through ramps that allow universal accessibility.
It will also be possible to access from the Vereda de San Pedro through the existing staircase.
Fulgencio Gil has reported that the work is financed 100% by the Ministry of Development of the CARM.
The works began several months ago, with completion scheduled for approximately one and a half months.
The works, that are executed almost to 90%, have contemplated the demolition of the existing pavements, as well as the installation of a general network of water supply of 183 meters, another 25 for the sanitation network, 600 for the network of collection and conduction of pluvial to which 490 m of rigolas and 48 scuppers are added.
The public lighting, for its part, is equipped with a network of 550 meters, 38 led lights of 18 W. They will also be placed in the portico of the pergola, 23 LED 24 W luminaires, in addition, a box for electrical control of the public lighting of the park.
The First Edil has indicated that the works for the construction of this new park include the placement of an underground network of 150 meters to bury the low voltage lines, as well as another 25 for the channeling of communications networks.
This new green zone involves the planting of 50 trees and more than 300 shrubs with Mediterranean species and native varieties.
2.5 kilometers of irrigation canalization will also be carried out.
It will proceed to make a total of 830 m2 of cobbled walks that are located on different platforms, which are accessed or through stairs or ramps providing the park with accessibility for people with reduced mobility.
The execution of the project allows, in addition, to provide the residents of the area with a new road with parking spaces of 1,150.5 m2 and 23 places for vehicles.
There will also be 1,650 m2 of recreational areas with terraces on the different platforms.
The park will have a kiosk for its users.
The zones will be homogenized with the same pavement treatment consisting of 800 m2 of aged cobblestone in walking area and 1,650 m2 of dirt in recreational areas.
The Mayor has anticipated that this green lung will be equipped with an area with 6 biosaludables games so that people can perform their corresponding exercises, as well as 3 petanque courts, an area with games for the little ones equipped with a rubber pavement for greater security.
In another of the platforms, a picnic area is created with 4 tables and chairs of reinforced concrete for the enjoyment of the neighbors.
There will also be a series of pergolas between the different steel and wood platforms to give shadow and living areas, with a total of 180 m2 of cover, as well as the placement of 34 banks and a battery of buried containers.
