This is a battery of projects that includes the complete renovation of an area of ​​424,134 m2, providing the urban perimeter more punished by the earthquakes of 2,879 led luminaires, and renewed supply networks, rainwater, sanitation and communications that represent an overall 143 , 6 kilometers.

The Councilor for Works in the City of Lorca, Angel Mecca, has reported that the ambitious battery of actions and investments that are allowing the comprehensive renovation of our municipality is leading to a package of public works in the area most affected by earthquakes that amounts to 57 million euros.

These are projects that are assuming, for example, completely renovate an area of ​​424,134 m2, providing this area with 2,879 lights, a renewed network of water supply that has almost 38.5 kilometers, as well as another 30 km of sanitation network, 15.1 km corresponding to the channeling and transfer of rainwater and another 60 km of multiple channels (communications services, telephony ...).

Ángel Meca has stated that these are resources that provide peace and security to all the neighbors, since we now have modern underground networks, free of fiber cement, more sustainable and efficient.

It should be noted that we have found very serious deficiencies, for example, most of the connections to the main network were sectioned, with the consequent discharge to the subsoil.

The Edil de Obras has affirmed that the plenary session of this morning has offered us the great opportunity we needed to expose the immense battery of works that we are carrying out in our municipal area, and that constitutes the largest public investment block that has been made in the history of our municipality.

In fact Lorca are being protagonists of a radical change, which allows the birth of a new Lorca, a municipality that when we began our work at the head of the City suffered a very high infrastructure deficit, among which we should remember discharges of sewage from 2 meters deep that corroded the foundations of the Palacio de Guevara, poorly communicated and underqualified neighborhoods, lack of pluvial network, streets that had to be lifted a few months after being fixed ... This is a time that we have managed to leave behind, and Now, after rising from the hard blows of an earthquake and floods, Lorca we have risen with greater strength than ever.

Meca Ruzafa pointed out that the approach that the Municipal Executive has wanted to give to this session has been totally constructive, informing about what is being done in our municipality.

It is a pity that they are so upset that we Lorca together build this New Lorca.

It has been very sad to see that the only thing that the opposition has been able to do is try to tarnish the works that are being made, and I understand their frustration, but they have to be very clear that they are not going to stop the growth of Lorca, the renovation of our streets, neighborhoods, squares and green areas, a project that includes the modernization of our districts, especially with regard to our network of roads and highways.

This New Lorca is not going to stop anyone, although we have to endure the lies and insults of a political opposition lost and irresponsible.
