The Lorca socialists denounce the political incompetence that has led to the loss of the opportunity to restore the church of San Juan at a cost of 1.5 percent cultural, and ask the Mayor and Councilor for Culture to clarify with what funding Alternatives count to face the recovery of the temple
The Ministry of Development has knocked down the plans to restore the church of San Juan with a charge of 2018 of 1.5% cultural.
This has been denounced by María Antonia García Jiménez, councilor of the PSOE, who regrets the loss of this subsidy of 1.5 million euros "fundamental" to face the recovery of this temple.
García Jiménez links this decision to the "political incompetence" of the PP councilors, which, as happened with the grant to restore the church of San Pedro, have led to the loss of this way of financing the recovery of the temple of San Juan.
Remember that the City Council of Lorca lost the subsidy requested from the Program of Conservation of Historic-Artistic Heritage, known as 1.5% Cultural, to restore the Church of San Pedro.
An "error" that they already committed in the 2015 call, which they repeated in 2016, and for which they ended up "using" the European Investment Bank loan for the recovery of the city after the earthquakes, to begin the remodeling of San Pedro
García Jiménez asks the Popular Party to clarify the reasons that have led to the Ministry of Development, the government of its President Mariano Rajoy, knocked down the intention of the City of Lorca to face the recovery of this temple under this grant that every year, the central executive grants.
The socialist mayor has urged the government team to, if they have not done so already, raise allegations to do everything possible to get this funding and not let it lose.
In addition, he asks the current Mayor and the Councilor for Culture to clarify with what "alternative" means of financing have to face the recovery of the church of San Juan or if, on the contrary, they only entrusted the restoration of the temple with these funds that, finally, they have returned to give rise to that they are lost.
García Jiménez regrets this new failure that has led to the loss of this grant whose application, together with the project, was announced by the Councilor for Culture "a bombo y platillo".
Ensures that by behaviors like this, the councilors of the government team are experts in generating "frustrations" among citizens, selling initiatives that then remain in the "limbo".
