January 18, 2019. The Councilor for Education of the City of Lorca, Francisco Montiel, announced that next Monday begin the Encounters with Author for the year 2018, organized by the Municipal Library Network with the aim of encouraging reading among the young students of the municipality.
Montiel pointed out that "this January 22 the Municipal Libraries, in collaboration with the Editorial SM, will offer us the presence of the writer Alfredo Gómez Cerdá, who will speak of his book" The balcony of the witch without a name "to 150 children in Early Childhood Education of different schools in Lorca during the school day of tomorrow.The activity will be held in the Children and Youth Library, located on the 3rd floor of the Cultural Center ".
Alfredo Gómez Cerdá was born in Madrid in 1951. He has a degree in Hispanic Philology.
After a brief experience as a screenwriter and novel adapter, the El Barco de Vapor Prize is presented with the story "Las palabras mágicas", obtaining the second prize and starting a very prolific career as author of children's and young people's literature.
His books have been published in several countries in Europe (France, Portugal, Germany, Denmark ...), America (Canada, USA, Mexico ...) and Asia (Korea, Lebanon and China).
In 2009 he won the National Prize for Children's and Young People's Literature for his work "Barro de Medellín".
He is the author of a rich and varied work, both in themes and in genres, which has earned him countless awards and has collaborated in different media.
