A total of 56 unemployed people participate in the development of workshops on Silk and Gold Embroidery and Arrangements and Adaptations of garments and articles in textiles and leather.
Students also receive a monthly scholarship of 200 euros.
The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, along with the Councilor for Local Development, Sandra Martinez, has reported that the City Council is developing within the framework of the "Young Employment Lorca" an ambitious initiative that will enable 294 young Lorca to get specific training in the professional field that opens the doors of the labor market.
The Municipal Executive is committed to promoting the training of young unemployed Lorca, while stimulating the movement of the labor market in our municipality with the challenge of consolidating the generation of new jobs that contribute to further improving the evolution of employment .
We Lorca closed 2017 with the best employment figure of the last 9 years, generating 542 new jobs throughout the year and with a new fall in unemployment of 171 people last December, and that sets a trend that between we all have to implement.
The First Edil has indicated that from the City Council, through the Department of Local Development, has been scheduled the realization, in this sense, a large battery of projects that includes a total of 29 training actions.
Each one of the beneficiary students will also receive a monthly scholarship of € 200, counting each initiative with a duration ranging between 4 and 8 months.
Fulgencio Gil explained that each of the training actions consists of theoretical and practical training of the specialty, but also includes knowledge in multiple areas such as the case of Prevention of occupational hazards, Promotion of non-discrimination and fight against social exclusion, Promotion of equal opportunities between men and women, New technologies, Employment guidance and techniques for job search and self-employment, Social skills, as well as Language training.
The students will also carry out work internships in companies to put into practice everything they have learned and acquire a fundamental experience to qualify for a job in the future.
The Mayor wanted to know first-hand the opinion of the students of these courses by visiting the development of them in the municipal workshops.
It should be noted that the Employment Youth Lorca program is the most ambitious and high investment in employment training for young Lorca in the history of the municipality, reaching € 1,873,453.40, and aims to strengthen the employability and professional skills of the young people not occupied and not integrated into the education and training systems and who are registered in the Youth Guarantee system, through training activities, constituents of integrated itineraries, with an emphasis on favoring gender equality and non-discrimination unfavorable collectives.
This project is carried out under the call for aid from the European Social Fund provided for in the Youth Employment Operative Program, carried out by the Ministry of the Presidency and for the Territorial Administrations through the General Directorate of Relations with the Autonomous Communities and Entities Local.
Fulgencio Gil has visited, in particular, the students of the courses of Embroidery in silk and gold and the one of Arrangements and Adaptations of garments and articles in textile and leather.
It should be noted that the first of them, which has 12 students, is coordinated by 2 monitors and has a duration of 6 months, has a budget of € 74,779.49, and given the interest aroused, it is planned to make another edition of this course with 10 students and 6 months.
The second, coordinated benefits a total of 12 students, has a duration of 5 months and with a budget of € 61,128.96.
Given its performance, another edition will be done with 8 students and 5 months.
