The Integrated Center for Training and Agricultural Experiences (Cifea) of Lorca, which since May 2015 has been the National Reference Center for Livestock in the field of Vocational Training, last year organized 160 courses of training and professional agri-food qualification, of which 3,200 professionals of the sector have benefited, with the obtaining of cards, diplomas or certificates that accredit the received training.
The Ministry of Water, Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries is promoting the Regional Training Program and Agri-Food Professional Qualification, aimed at the continuous improvement of training and the promotion of rural employment, especially for young people and women.
This program has a wide range of training and also strengthens the model of 'supervised co-responsible training', in collaboration with agricultural professional organizations and cooperatives.
It also includes exchanges of students, especially with EU countries, which complement the training received and, in turn, favor the dissemination of technological innovation and the tourism potential of the Region.
Crafting of cheeses
Recently the Cifea de Lorca has organized a course of artisanal elaboration of fresh goat cheese, for students who study the cycles of Livestock and Assistance in Animal Health and Agricultural Production, in the workshops and facilities available to the Center.
This course is part of the training plan developed by the Ministry for the agricultural, food or forestry sector, to improve their productivity and efficiency, as well as the increase of professional opportunities.
