The Mayor of Lorca has held a meeting this morning with the President of the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Murcia, CROEM, in which he has shown his concern about the delay in the approval of the General State Budgets for the year 2018 that puts in risk the bonus of 50% of the IBI.
The Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil, and the President of the Regional Confederation of Business Organizations of Murcia, CROEM, José María Albarracín, have held this morning a meeting in which they have addressed the main strategic projects framed in the project of a Lorca New that are being executed in our municipality and that represent the most ambitious investments in the history of Lorca.
Fulgencio Gil explained that "one of the most exciting projects we want to carry out this year in the business world is the creation of IFELOR, the Lorca Trade Show Institution that will be the body in charge of the management of the Trade Fair and Congresses and that allows our city to count on a powerful calendar of fairs throughout the year We are talking about a historical project proposed and championed by this Government Team, and in a particular way, by Francisco Jódar, who already put it on the table even in its opposition stage.
The Mayor has stressed that through this management model we want to participate actively economic and social agents throughout our municipality, always with the collaboration of Ceclor and Chamber of Commerce.
In this regard, it should be remembered that in the coming weeks an agreement will be signed with the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia amounting to 7.5 million euros for the equipment of this new and modern infrastructure.
The Mayor of Lorca has also conveyed to the president of CROEM the concern we have in the municipality with the delay in the approval of the General State Budgets for the year 2018. It is a situation that can make things very difficult for us. Lorca by putting at risk the bonus of 50% of the IBI;
a measure that those affected by earthquakes deserve and that means leaving in the pockets of citizens 7.5 million euros.
The approval depends directly and exclusively on approving the General State Budgets, so from here I appeal to the responsibility of the different political parties to unlock this saving measure for Lorca that is helping us so much.
It is a question that, both in Lorca and in the Region of Murcia, we are very concerned because in the municipality and in the Region there are many projects underway that may not be subject to extension and that have a great economic interest ".
Fulgencio Gil said that in the meeting we have held we have also addressed other issues such as the positive economic dynamics that we have all managed to shape in our municipality, and that has the most outstanding example of employment generation.
From the City Council we have great satisfaction for the important investment being made by the State and the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia in our municipality for the recovery of the city after the earthquakes.
The scale of the works that are being carried out in all the neighborhoods of our city and in the districts is having a very positive impact on local employment, so that from the Lorca Consistory we are in permanent contact with the Chamber of Commerce and, on everything, with Ceclor to coordinate the development of them and to try to generate as many jobs as possible.
The President of CROEM, José María Albarracín, has stressed that we have to recognize that in recent times the city has changed for the better, it is much more beautiful, accessible and recovered from the negative effect of the earthquakes.
A battery of jobs has been undertaken that have made the city much better.
We must continue promoting the development of these works for its particular positive effect and take advantage of the fact that the Regional Government has financing with Lorca through the loan signed with the European Investment Bank.
