Lorca has been an enclave of convergence of cultures over the centuries.
Jews, Christians and Muslims coexisted between the walls of the Fortress of the Sun.
These cultures, as well as their coexistence, left a mark that today Lorca treasures and that is evident in heritage, culture and traditions.
In order to make known all this cultural wealth is launched "Lorca Jewish, Christian and Caliphate", a tour that covers the main heritage sites through which to know these three cultures and their coexistence in Lorca.
The Caliphate of the Virgen de las Huertas, soSinagoga, the former collegiate church of San Patricio and the remains of the Paln are the three sites that this visit follows, in which a specialized guide accompanies the visitors.
This new tourist proposal was presented by the Mayor of the city, Fulgencio Gil, during the last edition of Fitur in Madrid.
In statements, Gil assured that the City of the Sun has a great historical and patrimonial legacy that we want to show the visitor through a complete offer that bears the name "Lorca, Jewish, Christian and Caliphate".
The first edition of this visit will take place next Saturday, February 3 and will take place on the first and second Saturday of each month in two different modalities.
The first Saturday of each month the visit is partly free, so that visitors can go at their own pace.
The second Saturday of each month the visit will include the transfer between the monuments by tourist train and the accompaniment of a guide throughout the tour.
