The network of branches that banks have distributed throughout the Spanish territory has not stopped falling in recent years, with constant closures that leave without an essential service close to thousands of customers.
In territories as complex as Lorca, with thirty-nine districts and a linear urban configuration with distant neighborhoods of the city, the effects multiply.
This situation comes from far, has multiplied in the years of the economic crisis, and with the merger of Bankia with the BMN will increase its incidence in the districts and neighborhoods of Lorca.
IU-V recalls that Bankia's own managers reported weeks ago that the merger with the BNM will involve the closure of no fewer than 99 offices throughout 2018, while the BMN reports that between December 2017 and January 2018 closed 47 offices -25 in December and 22 in January-
The closure of these offices is an obvious loss to thousands of people, especially burdensome for citizens of districts and even more if they are older and have mobility problems due to age or illness.
But even when facing the closure of a branch you have the option of changing to another bank with branches close to the client, in many cases this would imply a penalty, this is what happens with the thousands of users with mortgages that receive bonuses for maintaining the Credit cards and payroll in the account linked to the loan, and that could lose those bonuses if they change entity.
Now with the merger between the two credit entities, the problems multiply for all:
The districts and districts of Lorca and many other towns in the Region of Murcia lose, thousands of citizens will have to travel, with the cost in time and money that implies, to perform banking procedures absolutely essential in a society like today.

We must act on the power of the City of Lorca, as a preferred client of banking entities, and as an actor that every month enters the payrolls of hundreds of workers.
