Mateos warns that the ecosystem of the Luchena river is "very delicate" and denounces the "occurrence" of the Popular Party to announce this project, with high environmental impact, without having the necessary permits and, above all, without the prior consensus of the inhabitants of the high and collective lands and experts in the environmental field and rural development.

The spokesman of the PSOE, Diego José Mateos has demanded Gil Jódar and the government team of the PP to stop their intention to build an artificial estuary in full ecosystem of the Luchena river.

Mateos has warned that the environmental environment of the Luchena river is "very delicate", and remember that it is the only natural hydraulic ecosystem that conserves the municipality of Lorca.

He has shown his concern that this intention, announced recently by the Popular Party, instead of conserving and valuing this natural environment, ends up deteriorating or destroying it.

Diego José Mateos asks the Popular Party for "responsibility" so that, before announcing projects with a high environmental impact like this one, at least, they will be able to gather the necessary administrative permits, previous environmental studies and, above all, participation, opinion and consensus of the inhabitants of the highlands and collectives involved.

Mateos has insisted that any action that affects the conservation of the Luchena River should be weighed and studied previously, and taken to opinion among the inhabitants of the highlands, as well as among the collectives of the environmental and rural development, to enrich these projects and prevent ideas, like this one from the PP, from damaging the ecosystem.

Remember that, before this type of project, there are "other many priorities" in this area, such as keeping the environment "clean and conserved", or installing a water collection point so that emergency services can make use of it. in case of forest fire.

In addition, remember Gil Jódar and the rest of councilors of the PP that, if so important is for them to build a beach in this area, there are already two municipal pools, in Zarcilla de Ramos and La Parroquia, which could promote more to promote this type of leisure.

Mateos fears that, due to the fact that this idea of ​​the PP does not have the acceptance of the neighbors of the area, with this investment it will pass the same as the one made, also by the PP, for the construction of an Ecopark in Coy that " nobody asked. "

Specifically, were 209,000 euros thrown away, in a facility that was never used, as already denounced the PSOE in 2016 and 2017.

For Mateos, this new occurrence of the Popular Party obeys, clearly, its political exhaustion and the absence of a clear and defined project for Lorca and its districts.

Ensures that for a long time, the current Mayor and his team are engaged in announcing projects "by way of occurrences", without being weighed and without meeting the acceptance of the neighbors.

Therefore, Mateos asks Gil Jódar to immediately stop this project and his intention to build a beach on the Luchena river.

At least, not to act on the Luchena River until they carry out a serious, detailed and participatory study, which has the support of the social and environmental agents involved.
