The spokesman of the Municipal Group of United Left-Greens, Pedro Sosa, has condemned harshly the "incendiary" declarations made by the Mayor of Lorca, Fulgencio Gil (PP), a collation of the creation in Lorca of a citizen platform in defense of the burial of the railroad as it passes through the city.
Without even waiting for the group to take its first steps, Gil has ensured that its members intend to follow the "Gamonal model" and base their actions on the "escraches", the "Molotov cocktails" or the "stoning" of the AVE workers. , literal expressions that make him "unworthy" of the position he represents and for which IU-Greens require him to retract.
Sosa has considered "indecent" this "preventive criminalization" against citizens who legitimately defend their interests, and blamed the "extreme nervousness" of the Popular Party to its more than foreseeable loss of electoral support in regional and municipal elections of the year next.
"He knows that his lies about the AVE, that the opacity and chaos prevailing in Lorca on account of the works of the EIB or that the effort to convert aid to earthquake victims in bank loans with late payment interest and surcharges, it's going to cost the elections and that's why they say barbarities like that. "
The spokesman of IU-Greens regretted that Gil is more concerned in vilifying the opposition than in fighting so that the neighbors of San Diego or La Viña do not have to watch their neighborhoods for a concrete wall of several meters.
In that sense, Sosa recalled that, despite the promises of an integral burial, today the PP only guarantees the 1.7 kilometers, which, inevitably, will leave most of the city "divided" and many of their "isolated" neighbors.
Given the many doubts generated by the project and the serious damage it could cause to citizens, Sosa considered "absolutely reasonable" that the neighbors want to organize themselves in a platform that through a "fair, exemplary, peaceful and democratic struggle" defends their right to to live with dignity, "and at whose head, not crushing them, I should have the Mayor".
Therefore, Pedro Sosa recommended the municipal councilor to take advantage of the months that still remain in front of the Mayor to become worthy of his position and work tirelessly in the fulfillment of the electoral promises that his party made to the public.
"We want him to fight because our city is not split as a consequence of the AVE and because it improves Cercanías train service, an objective that he was not able to fulfill while he was a senator," Sosa said.
Finally, Sosa announced that on February 22, at the initiative of IU-Verdes Lorca, an informative talk will be held on the issue of burial that will be assisted by Joaquín Contreras, spokesperson of the Platform for Burying Murcia, Antonio del Campo, member of the Board of Directors of Renfe, and José Luis Ordoñez, expert in rail transport and spokesman of the State Coordinator in Defense of the Railroad.
